Introduction​

Recce is a Map Planning and Orienting app for Android devices. It aims to provide all the features needed for planning and executing an expedition. It allows users to save locations, routes, and areas, and categorise them using groups and colours. Recce currently provides coordinate transformations between 5 widely used coordinate systems, and is written to be easily extend to support other coordinate systems.

Motivation​

During national service, I found that there was a lack of modern mapping apps that provided necessary coordinate transformations and location/route pinning. Those that were available in the store had outdated UI, unoptimised performance, or lack of pinning features. This was when I decided to pick up mobile development, to make the app I wished I had.
